Arduino Wireless Sensor Network - Home

My overall PhD research project is to design, Build, Develop and eventually deploy an Arduino based Wireless Sensor network to the abandoned city of Pripyat (Ukraine) and monitor levels of Radiation and environmental factors over a 12 month period.

The AWSN

The Arduino based Wireless Sensor Network will be using the Arduino Mega and Uno platforms as thier primary microcontroller boards and each board will have a variety of sensors attached, sensors such as:
•Geiger Counters,
•Temperature and Humidity Sensors,
•GPS Location Sensors,
•Light Sensors,
•Rain & Moisture Sensors,
• and many more.

the Network will be broken up in rings and nodes, each ring will consist of 6 central nodes and then those central nodes will act as a ring for 6 more Sensor Nodes. There will also be what im calling scatter nodes, these scatter nodes will link to a parent sensor nodes to be able to transmit the data back to the central hub.

AWSN - Central Hub

The AWSN Central Hub will act as the gateway for the network to the internet where all data will sent to be stored in a database for future analysis Transmitting the data from the Central Hub to the Internet will be done by either of the following methods:

Method of Transmitting Data to the Internet
•Ethernet Connection,
•Wifi Connection,
• 3G/4G/5G Connection,
• Satellite Link (StarLink).
Method of Receiving Data from Nodes
This will be from an NRF24 module.

AWSN - Node Centers

Method of Transmitting and Receiving Data from Nodes
This will be from an NRF24 module.

AWSN - Sensor Nodes

Method of Transmitting and Receiving Data from Nodes
This will be from an NRF24 module.

AWSN - Scatter Nodes

Method of Transmitting Data to Parent Node
This will be from an 433MHz module Simplex-Based.
